My oldest journal with reference to my work in mathematics dates to 1989 when I was in New Jersey before moving to Texas. I also have a National Physical Fitness Award from George Bush, probably George Bush Senior, it does not have a W on it, I was in a private school and also Asher Holmes during my time in NJ, and have lived in Texas my whole life ever since. For my NASA black and red journal I have my N.E.M.A.L. project for the 2013-2017 years that I started in 2005 within my journals. Originally I had gone on a quest to find a common algorithm for languages until I learned that the origin of the speaker was what designated the difficulty of another language, and sometimes I tell people Math was my first language as a joke, besides English, while I started Spanish at a High School summer camp at age 12. My son is here with me today. We flew over the weekend and I was so overwhelmed with being emotional that I had never imagined he was coming with me on my flight training, I almost cried and then I almost threw up. We had some bad weather in Texas last night so after 4 rescheduled flights that were uncertain of cancellations, I did not want to leave him at the airport not knowing if he would make a flight home so he will be leaving at 12:30PM.
He sometimes gets frustrated with me when I speak other languages he does not know, he is learning Spanish right now at his school, they teach it now for his age on their campus instead of putting them in High School at a younger age. My blue journal has Aramaic starting, Japanese, Spanish, English, German, and Italian with my names written in acronyms, and some Hebrew in between the Aramaic and English. I have my numbering system from defining genres of music in here as well, when I was younger I use to say I would sing and compose in 13 of them. Here I stop at 7 in this journal, and I also have physics from Tao rather than only Pi philosophically here and a Statistical Design & Analysis of Experiments.
I had left my favorite Black Journal at the Airport in Harlingen, Texas next door to a children's marines training camp, which I have copies of my work in chemistry and math in loose-leaf, so I see some of it in my Blue Fuzzy one, 2011 is the starting date on this one, and I have a dinner with the Mayors of DFW event, and a friend who assisted in founding our Math Club at UTD in 2010. Some of my calculus in continued in here from my Black Journal, as well as College Algebra, a continued measure from what I would teach 3-Dimensions to the army brats in San Antonio. I once took a physical cracker and drew an X on it to explain how when you add one X to another X it becomes two X's, but when you multiple, you place them ontop of each other X^2, & I had trouble getting my student not to each the cracker with the permanent marker on it while I was teaching back then. I go off into cryptography and matrices here as well in this one.
I have my own report card that I designed to give myself a calculation of ponits based on tasks I needed to improve upon or keep track of in my Sunguard Higher Education manual. It starts with me numbering the languages from where I could do Day 1-5 and what needed the most work, or came historically from development as a human language, starting with Arabic, and then Egyptian Grammar with Cherokee for Day 2, Greek, Latin, and Hebrew for Day 3 designated as practicing building upon, Day 4 familiar with practicing for fluency is Russian, Japanese, German, and Spanish, and day five was a free miscellaneous day for Italian, Gaelic, Vietnamese, Sanskrit, and Chinese. I got basic phrases out of most of them and cultural participating experience in others, as well as a few that were taken as formal classes such as French at a college level. Having 27 languages on a Rosetta Stone helped somewhat, a friend burned an old copy that was out of date, yet the results yielded the same in closing studying the languages for algorithms, and either way I worked out my Wernicke's and Brocas's area, and learned a lot about other cultures and people, and of course languages and how mathematics applied to them somewhat. I gave myself an exorbitant amount for applying for the astronaut program, and develop a curriculum/program. One thing I noticed most about studying so many different languages is that you end up with English being reverted somewhat to Latin roots at times where it is older than you normally would recognize. I originally had used the founding of Harvard from Contemporary American Papers from 1636 from someone who was Anonymous then as the structure for the hours of learning and had noticed that they did eastern tongues and Hebrew on the 3rd day during the 3rd year of study after Physickes and Mathematicks.
My independent studies & appointment to interview a federal judge are in my fuzzy animal print, that also has languages, other coursework, and math with cryptography. I am mainly wanting to organize work for a CLEP exam, and see where I have done anything new that might not matter that much, but could at least be my own work. I had been going through how to write proofs for my own work recently within the past year, so that is why I need to be about to identify what is just coursework for a CLEP exam and what is my own work and independent studies and thoughts.
I also have some random notes about current events, such as Occupy Dallas that conducted a peaceful protest against the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas starting October 5th 2011, and May 1st 2012 had done 135 cities and calling it "MayDay" some references to pythagorean are also in here, brief trigonometry, a continuation of trig really, and the "Math Clock" that has Pi with Degrees for the hours is in here as well. I do not always put dates on everything, and have rewritten in these journals, so this one journal has room to write some more in, and I should probably digitize my work as well at some point...not sure who could do that for me so I did not have to sit there at a scanner for entire journals but that would be nice. I do not have much in the silver journal so I will keep these two together in order to write if need be. Same with the 2010 May 1st mead five star, I have room to write in here, and I do not see any math, just lyrics and notes on doing degree plans that would require math in them.
My son cannot read my cursive he says that it would take him forever. I think most of the kids are so techy these days they just do not teach them to read or write in cursive they are all coded out. I have 40 different student orgs I joined in this journal that is just a composition and a Plexon business card, recently I met the CEO Harvey, this is a sales-agent in here. I have Math Club as number 17 here, and a to do list that starts at 51, not sure where the rest is, some neuropharmocology notes, from Dr. Lucien "Tres" Thompson's class, I actually have his entire slides from his TA's with about 1000 drugs/ligands/agents printed out and re-written by hand in another folder. I have 100 reasons to do something and that must be where I broke into a to-do at 51. There are a few pages in here so I will stack these accordingly for later examination and writing.
Neuroanatomy has a journal that made its way into my math collection that should not be here! I do however have a neuroscience as a mathematics primer that I used so I suppose some of the topics overlap, they do more so in the Cognitive Science degree program. I am going to keep it in my white folder though instead of my math journal from 1989. I have a "Mathematician's Apology" T-shirt that I designed for my parents in another journal and some observation notes.
Foreign Languages Club that I was President for at a local college is in another journal that also has reference to math with what I might be looking for outside of my CLEP exam. I marked one of the pages with a stickey note to come back to it and keep with the journals that can be written in. I am packing my Red & Black that needs binding, the Tan and the spiral with the ones that have room to work on or work in that is unfinished. The other four I will need to store somewhere until they could be digitized, and I noted that I have spent two hours going through them and writing this article in my research ones, excluding the smaller blue "Trust your crazy ideas" that has my independent work already notated in it.
