EFT-1 was our follow up for The Orion Mock Test with the US Navy. About a million of us registered our names on the microchip inside of the vehicle that will take future missions to Mars. Test of fire was sort of like the 7 minutes of terror when we landed Curiosity on Mars. Except this launch we were gathered and filled with the history of spaceflight relaunching an era of exploration after a government shutdown. In between my NASA Social I played chess and had work for a makeup final that was taken a few days after I returned from Stennis Space Center. I agreed to go through full media credentials beyond this point and encourage more NASA Social Media attendees who had not gone before. Lately I have been taking those who have asked for the Recruitment Process to our OSSI system in which I actively hold a position searching for any place I am needed within our system. I enjoyed finding a data center and a Star Trek chess set in an antique store in between. Orion has successfully come back to earth and made its rounds through the NASA centers and home safe in Johnson Space Center completed the parachutes test for Orion as well. So it's been a wonderful journey, for #oneyearinspace coming up #themartian movie being redone, SpaceX having put a 3D printer on the ISS, I haven't even given my son his Orion model that he can make because I have been away doing public outreach over the past year (I thought I left him one but it must have been another mission) so I packed one for him and his grandfather, maybe when my dad is not at the Lackland Air Force Base he can work on it with him. I had Eagle Scholars over the summer and preparation for teaching chess and S.T.E.(A).M activities when I am not working. My son liked his helicopter ride so much for his birthday he wants me to get a rating and park one on his other grandmothers house. Since we last talked, I had been promoted to Vice President of the Math Club, President of the Aviation Club, and a Soon-To-Be-Neurosurgeon. I am also writing a medicine book that combines women as neurosurgeons, astronauts, and those in medicine, with a little bit of family history, experience, and I spoke with one of the builders who opened Clements University Teaching Hospital. I got Aage Moller to sign his book and am going over what they do for their certification for Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring so I can better raise the awareness for the legislature as promised to help those who are certified work hand in hand with Neurosurgeons, and I put that in writing, that I would do my best attempt to get some kind of law passed for it, and I haven't worked on anything since 2009 when I petitioned for a reduction over prescriptions and tax free books being a law. We have another Pegasus Ball coming up & I couldn't take off last year like I did the year before because I had a Neuropharmocology class tests, that prepare me for the board exams, which I may end up having to do anyways for the state. I am doing a CLEP to get college credit for something I already know in Calculus & some members close to our Texas Legislature have been asking to work with me on any legal matters related to my education because I put my ex-husband through college and some of those hours during our dating and marriage counted against me for an overall attempt. I will be thrilled when I finish all of the requirements for the degree and I am not sure whether or not I would walk across the stage again during a graduation ceremony, I invited some people, and then thought maybe being in my astronaut suit with a grad hat and bling accessories was enough for now :) I want the fastest way on to my next one. I have noticed when I sit in over at UTSouthwestern that my UTD education is redundant for some of the topics that we go over, and I just need more experience in other areas than just passing tests and having book or teaching content memorized and getting into the rhythms of my own flight tests and experiments to get my pilots license(s), and I have a crew of about 15 going to meet Higgins at the Fort Worth Air Show, that and we are building a new Southwestern Medical College University of Texas school in Fort Worth & I heard also down by the border of Mexico where I came back in from Harlingen, but haven't gotten any of the architectural designs in to see what they are negotiating. My next priority will be to raise funds for my non-profit & businesses and hire people to help so that I can travel more and go through more training and also get on the launch pad in Florida like I promised originally and was afraid to go my first time for a NASA Social. I wanted to research SpaceX more before I made the commitment and I now feel a little more comfortable with knowing who Elon Musk is and explaining him to City Council people so he could do a ground breaking in Corpus Christi area South Padre for a commercial launch pad to bring to Texas, & I have made a few appearances with friends at Tesla, and they assured me helping sell the rockets comes first, and they will be there at NorthPark for custom made vehicles anytime someone wants to buy one. I told them anytime they needed me to pick anyone up & explain the car if they were in the market to buy, they would have to come get me first, my mother promised not to shoot a car if it programmed itself to come pick me up as long as I could override it. TomorrowLand was a wonderful movie and I remembered when we had the previews and have just been working so much I finally got to see it last time I went to visit San Antonio & my son. The Global Health Grand Rounds was a little different this year, but not by much, the only commentary was that the speaker felt that if I traveled into developing countries to explain why it is important we go to mars they wouldn't care, but I am always hopeful there is a way to get people to look out towards the skies and wonder what it is like to be there among the heavens. I am hoping to be able to hang out and make a trip with some of my NASA buddies somehow to hang upside for "The Martian" & I think it will be important for Space Princess character to recruit and also do more live media which NASA has asked me to transition so & I have been in the process of doing. Other than that I have been raising money with Les Femmes Du Monde where I serve as Liaison for Children's Health formerly Children's Medical Center, and we have an even in October on the 14th at the Dallas Country Club, where Alyce Heinrich will be passing over the torch to Jan Ward, and we met with some designers to see about bringing our fashion fundraisers back in February, I was complimented at an FGI event to sell a coat at Neimans..i.e. Neiman-Marcus so I am not sure if Axa would be able to get everything ready or if some of my other friends can help us whip up a collection together to have proceeds go to some of the non-profits or not. I will be happy when I get things financed in order that makes more sense for the research & I have knocked out planning down iron-grid airtight locked.
