NASA Social Recovery of Orion

As a premed student at the University of Texas at Dallas, I asked the adviser for the photography club at the time, who was also a member of our HPAC group, to take a photo of myself with Squire Maguire our astronaut poodle. This is the first professional photo of record in his suit created by Axa Designs and since then he has acquired 3 signatures from astronauts including Mae Jemison, Yvonne Cagle, and recently Fred Haise. I started going through pilot training and it was very liberating to be able to learn how to fly. When I was in San Antonio, sometimes I would fall asleep in class or space out and a classmate would ask me- where are you? what were you doing? I would say I don't know where I was when I was dreaming but I was flying. Right now I am reading a book by Carey D. Lohrenz called "Fearless Leadership". It really spoke to me on a number of topics when I was browsing B&N. Normally I am wandering around one of the libraries at SMU or if I have been invited to another library and actually have an algorithm for what is acceptable to allow a book into my collection. It is not that I am taking on Greek Mythology that books have a soul, but I do feel that if there is something that you read over and over again and you are that interested and it becomes part of our nomenclature and vernacular you might want to keep it as a reference. Whenever I get up to real space as in lower-earth orbit or beyond, I will have a requirement for whomever is orchestrating the flight arrangement whatever my role may be, that I can bring a book. I am honored to have run into such splendid ladies in Dallas, Texas such as the Pierian Club who have given me their book before and I made a copy to keep for record before returning it. When I was a little girl I use to tell my mother that by the time I am grown up I will not understand some of the things she went through in regards to the women's rights movement. SpaceX out of McGregor, Texas was where I started with visiting SpaceX with AIAA instead of going out to Florida for the first NASA Social I was accepted for.
Today Elon Musk made a comment about legislation not being Texan or rather "Un-Texan" for not allowing him to sell directly to the consumer with Tesla instead of by law requiring dealerships which made me laugh because I came up with a rhyme about his company and Cessna airplanes. Langley, Virginia was my first visit with NASA. We had the United States Navy assist us with a demonstration of how Orion, our vehicle to Mars, would be recovered from the ocean with our astronauts and put into one of the NAVY ships to be transferred to their medical team. Today was also my first day in a special topics neuroscience laboratory so I started my powerpoint presentation on the computer hopefully I will be stationed at for the remaining of the semester. My independent study is on the brain in microgravity, specifically oxidative stress for the future.

& a few steps along the way....

Searching for yourself can sometimes be a difficult thing to do. One of the most important investments I made in life was taking a business class that included not only business plan, but life goals. While finishing an international marketing class I was approached by a group that wanted to start a new club at Collin College that was a spin off from the National Society for Leadership and Success. After attending a meeting and getting a booklet from Alpha Sigma Pi, a Business Honor Society came together to learn Robert's Rules of Order and establish a division at the local college in Plano, Texas. Pi itself was a mathematical number I associated myself with at a very early age because it was described as infinite. I was told Pi goes beyond the decimal place in a random order forever. Therefore, I have listed some of my C.V. here. During the Neuro-Ethics conference at Southern Methodist University I attended in 2009, I asked questions and got answers and needed to find a way to relate to what specifics I wanted to research. Having been a patient who changed her brain to change her life before she hit the 25 years in Dr. Daniel Amen's book, I wasn't sure what to do after 20 some odd years on different medications and wanted to know more about where to go from there. Being President of a Foreign Languages Club I was searching for a pattern linguistically after picking up a book about linguistics and mathematics. So I came up with a side project for my own topic N.E.M.A.L. Neuro Ethics Mathematics And Languages. The Principal Investigator certification training is really what the faculty needs at UTD and I choose to go through the training to see what they went through state side. State side is really a terminology the military uses to say you are back in the United States but Texas has written in it's constitution we can Secede from the Union. I took a semester off and went through a number of student organizations at UTD to meet people and see what the student body was like and feel out my areas of interest. Dean Fitch had suggested I take 4 months to myself and at the time I was finishing a piece for UTDTV. Currently I am organizing my journals so this one pictured here at the end of the certificates for NEMAL has some binding issues because I have worn it out, but I have taken a book binding course in Addison so perhaps at another class when the schedule and travel on my part becomes available with my flight training at American Flyers I will be able to fix it.

250+ Topics in Mathematics

I started going through the PhD Statistics program at Southern Methodist University with my father to see what topics on math were covered when I was 12 years old, so 1997. I venture off onto the internet a lot to see what other universities are teaching and sometimes document them or go through OCW and compare. One time in a World Literature class, we were asked to go around the room and each one of us speak about what we did for fun, this was before I was accepted into a neuroscience program at University of Texas at Dallas, my answer was Neuroscience and Mathematics and the teacher laughed a little and asked if everyone had met "Andrea" while rolling her eyes playfully and it sort of was uncertain to me as to why because I grew up speaking math in a sense. I love making math t-shirts. Currently when I am done making some adjustments to this website I hope to link my topics of interest to online resources for the subject matters.
